Rep. Eliot Engel has secured a National Science Foundation grant for Lehman College. The $192,171 grant will be used by Lehman to further its theoretical research in magnetism, a highly involved program with students from high school to doctoral levels of education.
The grant will also be used so the program can become part of national symposiums.
The program will also reach out on a community level by connecting with local schools.
“Science holds the key to our prosperity as a nation, and Lehman College is in the forefront of efforts to prepare young people to compete with the best and brightest from across the globe. I am proud to support efforts like these to bring back much needed resources to the Bronx,” Mr. Engel said in a press release.
