Washington, D.C. – Congressman Eliot Engel, a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, says the October jobs report provides further evidence the economy is on the right track, but reiterated the need to extend emergency unemployment insurance.

The monthly jobs report shows that employers added 214,000 jobs to the economy in October, and the unemployment rate fell to 5.8 percent from 5.9 percent.
