NEWS: Chairman Adam Schiff Endorses Chairman Eliot Engel for Reelection

Chairmen Engel and Schiff.

Congressman Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has endorsed Congressman Engel for reelection. Here is Congressman Schiff’s statement:

“Last year as the House undertook an investigation into Donald Trump’s abuse of power that led to his impeachment, Eliot’s leadership as chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee was invaluable as we worked hand in hand to uncover the truth and inform the American people of Trump’s misconduct. And ever since Trump took office, Eliot has helped expose the abuses of his Administration, and hold this lawless President accountable.

“Eliot is a dedicated and talented public servant who knows how to get things done for the people of his district, while working diligently to protect our democracy. He has my full support for his reelection.”

Congressman Schiff joins a growing list of senior Congressional Democrats who have endorsed Congressman Engel, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, House Whip James Clyburn, House Democratic Caucus Chairman Hakeem Jeffries, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Chairwoman Maxine Waters, and the Congressional Black Caucus Political Action Committee.

“Everyone knows how diligently Adam Schiff has worked to hold Trump accountable,” said Congressman Engel. “Adam’s endorsement is a real honor. He’s an absolute stalwart as Intelligence Committee Chairman and his partnership in this Congress, working for transparency and justice, has been wonderful.
